Hardneck
1 full head
German Red Hardneck garlic is a robust and flavorful heirloom variety known for its rich, spicy taste and easy-to-peel cloves. This hardneck type produces large, bulbous heads with 8-12 reddish-brown cloves encased in a purplish-white skin. German Red thrives in colder climates and is highly resistant to pests and diseases. Its strong, complex flavor makes it a favorite for culinary uses, from roasting to raw applications. The tall, sturdy scapes can also be harvested and enjoyed.
Type: Rocambole
Cloves per Bulb: Approximately 8-12 cloves
Flavor Profile: robust and spicy
Storage Life: 4-6 months
German Red (Hardneck) Garlic
The best planting garlic I have ever bought! HUGE!!
This is my first year planting garlic and I was excited to see that MiGardner offered so many different varieties. I ordered German Red and it arrived nicely packaged in a bag;inside a box. The head of garlic was of a nice size and intact. At the time of planting, I had broke the cloves apart and noticed not one clove was rotten.
I am satisfied with my purchase and look forward to the Summer Harvest.
Arrived in very good condition. Can’t wait to plant!
Wonderful variety of garlic, at a great price
All of my seeds grew from last year. I have been very pleased and look forward to this new order growing this coming spring.
growing a few of these indoors under a light for winter sandwiches. they came up fine still to small to eat so jury is out on taste. growing winter plants also puts moisture in the house and it is very dry this year so bonus.
Amazing seeds, amazing packaging and amazing prices!
Migardener’s lemon balm is super easy to grow. It comes back every year here in Michigan. You can use it fresh or dried. My favorite for iced tea.
I had success last yr so im confident this yr about getting them started(:
