Delicious Smokey Sweet Large Heirloom Tomatoes
One of the most quintessential heirloom tomato to grow in a home garden. I have grown this tomato years ago, around 2020. I just wanted a refresher of how good Cherokee Purple Tomato is. In my zone 7b garden, this plant grew 5 ft tall (from directly planted May 2026- end ofJuly 2026). It stays compact and continuous to grow. Also, this plant is disease resistant and may be crack resistant to heavy rain. I haven't noticed a cracked tomato from this plant. This purple and crimson beefsteak tomato taste is delicious, smokey, tender, and super sweet. One of the best tomatoes I have grown in my garden. The downsides are that is not very productive and some fruits are ugly/not uniform. Those are the reasons that I had tried to find a Cherokee Purple tomato replacement. I had tried Cherokee Carbon hybrid tomato and Black Krim tomato (they were productive purple beefsteak but did not the "je ne sais quoi" factor of Cherokee Purple). In general, one Cherokee Purple plant gives me around 7-9 large tomatoes. The fruit weight ranges from 8 oz to 12 oz. The tomato fruit has minor imperfections, like cat facing, and some minor stem crack (shown in photo). Even with its downsides, Cherokee Purple is the best purple beefsteak tomato to grow in my house. It will be in "Must grow tomato list" for next year.

This stuff works great!
I really noticed a difference with my flower garden. Everything is much more vibrant. It really helped kick off my vegetable garden as well. It says release in one application all season works, but I do find for my tomato plants that I like to do an additional Organic low nitrogen fertilizer every two weeks for bountiful fruit production but that’s just my opinion. I use this in my house plants as well. I find that one application works as well as for the flower garden. No more miracle grow ever!

Toothache plant, one of my favorites to grow
I love toothache plant. They had a great germination rate and are growing so good even in over 100 degree temps. It has been blooming nonstop since April and it is now towards the end of July. This is one I will always have in my garden.

Growing strong!
I planted about 12 seeds each in 5 inch pots. They all germinated and were so easy to transplant. They are growing so well, I've trimmed the greens and hope to have some nice sized onions in a month or so.
