Winter - This compact butternut squash is a crowd favorite for its standard fruit size and long shelf life—amazingly compact plants. The vines reach 3-4' long, ideal in small gardens and containers. This squash will produce between 3-6 squash that are just 2-4 lbs each.
We have grown these for several years in our raised beds. We really like them for a few reasons...they take less space than other butternuts, they produce well and the fruits are a bit smaller - making them perfect for a smaller family.
I am looking forward to trying something new this year
Had my first successful harvest of butternut squash with these seeds. 100% germination.
Iowa zone 5b. I planted two squash plants each between tomato plants which were in three corners of a 4x4' raised bed. This worked out well. The vine stayed in the bed. The squash are just the right size for two people. Excellent.
I only planted 4 of these for now, but I got 100% germination and the plants so far are staying small as in the shape of a bush like the name suggests.

These were cut on April 22nd and planted April 23, 2025. They came up on May 4th. I'm in central SD, zone 4b. Next year, I'll get more!
Hard to leave a review just planted them.. but over all I was pleased when they arrived ❤️
I wasn't sure it would survive when I planted it, but it is growing. Very happy with my purchase
I immediately set this plant outside to begin hardening off. After about 2 weeks, I planted it in it's dedicated grow bag until I get a more permanent planter, and I must say it is living life. It has grown so much since I received it. I believe I'm going to remove the blossoms this year to continue promoting healthy growth.
Love this. I collect stickers on my garden notebook for fun and inspiration and this spoke to me.
