Indeterminate - The Abe Lincoln tomato was cultivated in the 1920s in Abraham Lincoln's home state of Illinois. The farmer named it because he wanted gardeners to know they were getting an honest producer with great flavor, one that was reliable to produce all season long. This is a classic variety with good acidity and regular tomato leaves, making it the perfect slicer tomato. Plants will produce normal amounts of fruit but will overcompensate in the quality of taste. These are amazing in tomato sauce, soup, pasta, or homemade ketchup.
Last year most of my tomatoes took a long time to grow and turn red (zone 5/6). I knew it was a risk to plant these late in the season, but I figured if any seeds would produce quickly, they'd be MIGardener seeds! I wasn't disappointed. I made sure to feed with calcium-magnesium fertilizer and yeast fertilizer to give myself my best chance--and I got tomatoes before the first frost! As promised, the plants produced a versatile blush-colored tomato that we're still enjoying (because we froze a bunch for sauces). Can't wait to plant again.
Absolutely fantastic tomato! Very vigorous plants producing delicious fruit! Can’t be without them!
I can’t wait until spring to try these seeds!! Thanks!
I grew Abe Lincoln for the first time in 2023, and I fell in love with its size and flavor, definitely a keeper!
My largest tomato last year was an Abe Lincoln. I cut it up and when my husband tasted it he said, "Wow! You could make ice cream from it!". So sweet and full of flavor. Vigorous and lovely plants from my MIgardener seeds! Thank you!
