Prizehead produces luscious heads with outer leaves that are loose and curled. The inner leaves are lime green and the outer fringed leaf tips are purple to bronze. Prizehead is perfect for salads and garnishes. Delightfully crisp, sweet, and tender. Perfect salad lettuce for the home gardener that is slow to bolt. There is a reason this lettuce survived over 130 years!
Recently purchased. Excited to try this variety in the spring.
Germinated well and will purchase again when needed!
The purchase process was great. I've not used the seeds yet so I can't comment on the quality but I don't anticipate any problems.
God bless and keep you all
Haven’t planted yet. I ordered garlic. I have planted garlic in the past from another supplier and haven’t had luck. Since I’m from Michigan and the MIGardner is also. I figured I try my luck with these. Ordering was easy. The more common garlic sold out fast, so I’m trying my number 2 recommendation.
Prizehead Leaf Lettuce
This is an all-star! Armenian cukes have a mild taste, store well in the refrigerator, and are delightfully crunchy. I shared them with many friends this year and each one loved them and decided to grow them next year!
My seeds arrived safely, the order was accurate, and I love how MIGardener keeps their seed packet prices low (without skimping on the seed count!). This company has a great variety of high quality seeds, I always get a great germination percentage. This winter, I'm excited to start my indoor garden of greens and other small veg so I don't have to buy the overpriced (potentially coated in chemicals) produce at the store. Keep up the good work, MIG team! Thank you for being there :-)
I planted these beets last year and they were so successful I ordered more for this year.
All of my seeds grew from last year. I have been very pleased and look forward to this new order growing this coming spring.
growing a few of these indoors under a light for winter sandwiches. they came up fine still to small to eat so jury is out on taste. growing winter plants also puts moisture in the house and it is very dry this year so bonus.
