Growing sugar beets offers a rewarding experience for gardeners and farmers alike. These beets, maturing in 90-100 days, are prized for their high sugar content, making them ideal for home sugar production and animal feed. Sugar Beetroots are not a typical beet; they have a very large white and tapered root that can weigh up to 1 foot long and 3-5 pounds apiece. They are very frost tolerant. Their tops can grow 1-2' tall and can be eaten, lightly grazed, or fed to animals.
They germinated quickly and are growing well. Very pleased!
As always I am impressed with MIG quality of seeds. embarking on a new adventure of home grown sweetener next summer after we grow these. Love a veggie with multiple uses that allows us to be more self sustainable!
Preparedness, and stocking up my own sugar source! I can dehydrate and store for years. Organic and grown myself. I’m very excited to have this seed packet.
I direct sowed in Sept. No germination. Could be my error
I haven’t planted these yet, but all my seeds from this past season germinated and were healthy plants. I’m sure this nexts years batch will be the same. I’m excited to plant these.
This is my first year growing straw flower. The germination rate is fantastic and you get so many seeds. Can't wait till they can moved outdoors and bloom in my purple flower bed.
Everything but the royal paste sprouted. Sometimes that happens. Will place another order for fall planting.
This variety was excellent for me for cooking. I needed to pick fewer leaves and chopping was a breeze. The spinich felt more succulent and thicker than the American (smaller spoon shaped leaves). I would use it for cooking and keep the smaller leaved varieties for raw salad eating. My weather was a tricky early on and off again spring and winter pattern, so I think that triggered early bolting, but even still. It was pretty hands off and worth it.
Awesome producer and neat looking fruit! The abundant cucumber beetles seem to ignore the vines too!
Haven’t planted yet. Looking forward to adding to salads! So happy MIgarden had these. Hard to find Microgreen seeds
