Plants produce heavy yields of small husk-covered fruits that fall to the ground at full ripeness. Because of their high pectin content, they are perfect for making jellies, jams, sauces, preserves, and so much more.

I love the ground cherries. I must admit the first time I planted them I thought they were tomatillos but found out my mistake rather quickly buy the sweet taste.They grow quickly in the heat of the Southern Florida sun. One plant , possibly it was two plants togather produced an abounds ce of ground cherries. In fact I made 6 pints of jam from them. It was quite good. I expect the same again in my small space. By the way they get Quite big. My two twined together had to be trimmed to walk through the back opening . It spread a good 6 feet .

Started my seeds on 12/31/25. I’ve had almost 100% germination and the onion seedlings are a couple of inches tall at this point (1/9/26). Looking forward to a great harvest!
Grew these last year, so I bought more seeds! they were awesome, very prolific and tasted great!!
I started them early....did waterjug winter seed starts .. they did very well....grew up to be nice sturdy plants, bearing lots of fruit! Thank You!!
