Papaver somniferum. These delicate double flower blossoms are a deep purple color. The Black Swan Poppy will flower in the cooler temperatures weeks before other annuals to bring you a spark of joy. Great for attracting beneficial pollinators like bumble bees and honeybees.
Poppies are deer and rabbit resistant.
unable to do a review at this time it is to early to plant in 3' of snow
Although I haven’t planted them yet my purchase was easy and received in a timely manner. I will definitely order some seeds from them again.
The Black Swan will be an experiment as l have never grown poppies before. However, I truly appreciate all hard work you and your team do. One of my very first YT subscriptions. Aside from that, l feel your seed business is full of passion and knowledge. The $2 package concept is a winner. I don't worry about experimenting on new varieties and understand that l want more seeds buy more packets. As always a very satisfied customer.
I've been looking for this variety and was happy to find it. Looking forward to spring to see it flowering!
I will be cold stratifying these seeds this fall. I expect them to do as well as the poopy seeds that I showed last fall. They are beautiful and doing well.

These were cut on April 22nd and planted April 23, 2025. They came up on May 4th. I'm in central SD, zone 4b. Next year, I'll get more!
Hard to leave a review just planted them.. but over all I was pleased when they arrived ❤️
I wasn't sure it would survive when I planted it, but it is growing. Very happy with my purchase
I immediately set this plant outside to begin hardening off. After about 2 weeks, I planted it in it's dedicated grow bag until I get a more permanent planter, and I must say it is living life. It has grown so much since I received it. I believe I'm going to remove the blossoms this year to continue promoting healthy growth.
Love this. I collect stickers on my garden notebook for fun and inspiration and this spoke to me.
