AnnualIndeterminate. This heirloom Brandywine tomato, with its potato-leaf foliage and deep pink skin, traces back to the late 1800s and was brought to America by Mennonite settlers from Germany. Known for its large size—often exceeding 1 pound—the fruit is sweet, low in acid, and contains few seeds. Its rich, smooth flavor makes it an excellent choice for slicing, sauces, and canning. A true classic, it remains a favorite for both history and taste.

I read that this Germany origin tomato is good for northern growers. I look forward to seed starting them at the end of February. Thanks MIG for offering so many tomato varietals at a great price.

Tiffen Mennonite Tomato
We planted five seeds in five die pattern in 12 x 2.5" starter pots because we suspected finicky germination rate, but much to our surprise 53 of the 60 seeds came up! We gave four seedlings to family and pricked the remaining 49 out and everyone is doing very well in its own pot. Grade A seeds in our opinion! We love MIGardener!
Germanated quickly on a heat mat. Off the mat and growing ready to transplant early/mid april. Excited for leeks this autumn
Last year I bought seeds from my local store and I didnt get anything to germinate. This year I purchased all my seeds from MIGardener and I've had to give seedlings away cause nearly all the seeds sprouted!!!

My only complaint is that I was not prepared for how well and fast all of the seeds would grow soI had to pot up earlier than expected! I am very happy with all of the seeds I have purchased from here!
