Giant Prague celery, also known as celeriac, is a robust heirloom variety prized for its large, knobby root and mild, celery-like flavor. Unlike traditional celery grown for its stalks, Giant Prague is cultivated for its edible root, which can reach the size of a small grapefruit. The creamy white flesh of the root is perfect for soups, stews, mashes, and salads, offering a delightful, nutty taste. Its leafy tops can also be used for flavoring. Giant Prague celery is a versatile and nutritious addition to any garden.
I seed started them indoors as soon as they arrived. This took about 10 days. They are growing nicely. I plan on transplanting outdoors within the next 2-3 weeks. We have mild winters here. There were 300 seeds in the packet. A great deal for $1. Definitely will buy again from MIGardener.
Great seed, got here in a timely manner.
Always liked celery root but have a hard time finding in the grocery stores. Next spring I plan on growing my own.
I like that you carry seeds that others don't carry. Thank you.
The germination is 100%. They are still babies so I cant comment further.

Great fertilizer. Used for the first time last year for my fall bulbs and they were stunning and strong come spring. Planting another 250 bulbs this fall so came back for more bulb fertilizer. I also use the Trifecta. Can’t go wrong with any of Luke’s amendments.
Great germination and very prolific.
I grew this in a straw bale garden in 2025 and really enjoyed it. It grew amazingly well and was beautiful, so I purchased more for 2026. Michigan zone 6b.
I have grown these for the last few years and they are hands down my favorite. I like romas and firm tomatoes. These remind me of mini romas. These are less prone to splitting, super easy to harvest and has a super great flavor and very meaty. YUM!
The cloves are large, full and heavy. Of the two cloves I kept (shared 2 with my daughter), 12 were large enough to plant, 1 will be consumed.
