Named for an island off the coast of South Carolina, this variety was introduced in 1952. Crisp and sweet, this beloved heirloom has been a favorite for generations (especially on the Eastern Seaboard where it originates). Tall, uniform leaves create the perfect shape for lettuce wraps or boats for dips and dressings.
Beautiful, highly recommend ,like the taste. Thank you.
I always have good results from your seeds and plan on future orders
Very good
I have no complaints about flavor. Just be aware this one has small leaves and does not head. I also did not quite get the germination rates I was hoping for. Still a good lettuce though.
Great germination, then came 95+degree heat and humidity. Almost ready to pick, then bolted and became bitter. There’s always next year.

I grew this in a straw bale garden in 2025 and really enjoyed it. It grew amazingly well and was beautiful, so I purchased more for 2026. Michigan zone 6b.
I have grown these for the last few years and they are hands down my favorite. I like romas and firm tomatoes. These remind me of mini romas. These are less prone to splitting, super easy to harvest and has a super great flavor and very meaty. YUM!
The cloves are large, full and heavy. Of the two cloves I kept (shared 2 with my daughter), 12 were large enough to plant, 1 will be consumed.
Received 9 or 10 large, nice quality cloves of elephant garlic. Packaged nicely. Planted them right up and looking forward to seeing what sprouts next season.
Sicilian was by far the best clove Size and quality
