Originating from Southern Mexico, this variety has been cultivated for centuries. You can eat the seedlings by tossing them in salads or grow them to maturity for more dynamic uses. This variety loves sunshine! Bright green with an adorable dimple in each kernel. This variety is most popularly used in cornflour to make tortillas and tamales. Like any dent corn, Oaxacan can be used as animal feed. Ears range from 7 to 10 inches in length.
The seeds germinated well in Oklahoma zone 7 and have grown some beautiful corn. I was just growing these as a fun side but I think they might become a regular part of my garden.
That corn and the Blue Hopi corn emerged in 4 days. I've never been dissatisfied with anything that I've purchased from you. I just wish I could buy in bigger quantities
Seeds arrived so quickly! I'm truly looking forward to growing this.
I was excited to try planting this corn. I counted the seeds and noted that I only got 16-18 seeds in my packet instead of 20. These are by weight not seed count so I got bigger seeds but now I won't be planting as many stalks as I wanted. My order was short a couple of packets. I called and they rushed me out my missing seeds. If you ever have an order issue, their customer service is top notch.
This is my first year growing straw flower. The germination rate is fantastic and you get so many seeds. Can't wait till they can moved outdoors and bloom in my purple flower bed.
Everything but the royal paste sprouted. Sometimes that happens. Will place another order for fall planting.
This variety was excellent for me for cooking. I needed to pick fewer leaves and chopping was a breeze. The spinich felt more succulent and thicker than the American (smaller spoon shaped leaves). I would use it for cooking and keep the smaller leaved varieties for raw salad eating. My weather was a tricky early on and off again spring and winter pattern, so I think that triggered early bolting, but even still. It was pretty hands off and worth it.
Awesome producer and neat looking fruit! The abundant cucumber beetles seem to ignore the vines too!
Haven’t planted yet. Looking forward to adding to salads! So happy MIgarden had these. Hard to find Microgreen seeds
