Indeterminate - This beautiful yellow/orange beefsteak type variety is high in sugar and low in acidity. Fruits can grow up to 2 lbs a piece and make for beautiful slicing tomatoes on sandwiches or burgers. Vigorous vines require staking for best results.
It is hard to find Mr. Stripey tomato seed, so I’m super happy you carry them. The seedlings are doing fantastic! MIGardener is my go to for seeds and Trifecta fertilizer!
MI gardener provides great seed at a great price. Looking forward to trying this new-to-me tomato variety this summer. Seeds have already(!) sprouted with 100% germination rate indoors.
Getting ready to start seeds, will have more info later.
Looking forward to starting seeds and fruit production next year.
OTHER NOTES:
I want to support MI Gardener, However:
I think there is too much content and time given to the farm and less effort now put toward the small home gardener like myself that needs pointers and ideas.
Also, I think your shipping charges are too high.
Example:
For a single pack of Romaine Seeds that I missed when ordering was to be $3.95, so $5.95 for a pack of seeds that I could purchase from my local garden shop.
$10.95 for 3 lbs. of seed potatoes.
My opinion...
This was my first year growing Mr. Stripy. It was a very new taste sensation from a beefsteak. I would say low acid, the inside was meaty and melt in your mouth (smooth and silky). The taste was sweet with a strong mango flavor. You could almost fool someone into thinking they were eating mangos. The tomato would tend to have 2 cracks which didn't bother anything. My adult daughter loved this tomato.

As described. Good germination.
We have nice fertile soil in our greenhouse and able to control those pesty little flea beetles that can decimate eggplants foliage. I've been keeping them under control with DE and my eggplants are massive in size, about 3-4 feet tall with 1 foot lower leaves.
The eggplants fruit are developing nicely, nearly doubling in size daily. There are plenty of blossoms too. We're expecting that we won't need to grow more for a few years, we're planning on freeze drying most if them.
I purchased several packs of seeds from MiGardener during the semi annual sale, and they did not disappoint! Nearly 100 percent germination rate on all seeds I've planted. The only thing I haven't been able to germinate is lemon grass, which I'm learning may 1 take a very long time to germinate in general and 2 need bottom heat to help them sprout. Even without being on sale 2 bucks a seed pack for the amount they give (very generous compared to other companies, I might add) is a crazy good deal. If you have been on the fence, I encourage you to give MiGardener seeds a try! Thank you Luke and team, and Happy Gardening to all!
I'm not a seasoned gardener, so I don't necessarily know what's normal or not, but out of all the seeds I planted (got about a dozen different herbs and greens from MIgardener), the fenugreek was the quickest to sprout, had the highest germination rate, and the largest sprouting leaves. I'm pretty excited to watch them grow into beautiful plants.
Gardening for over 40 years. The Trifecta very impressed has all the elements I want in a fertilizer. Next year I will buy the largest amount.
