Mizuna Mustard is a culinary green that has great leaves for salads. Each plant grows up to 36 inches tall. Mustard seeds can also be used as a spice or can be ground to make condiments. The Mizuna variety is a fast-growing type with dandelion-type leaves that are perfect in salads. It can be gradually harvested or the whole plant at once. This was once only used as a garnish but now is popular for its nutrient-packed leaves.
It is a cool crop as it bolted now that it is hot.
😀
I tried a variety of new-to-me greens this summer in order to try to keep salad greens growing in the summer season after most lettuce becomes very unhappy. My overall experience has been that aphids, slugs and caterpillars like the summer greens WAY too much. This mizuna is the only one that seems to completely avoid the hordes of pests. It is growing easily and well, and best of all, we actually get to eat it!
This is the next best thing to having arugula in my salads! It is so delicious and the texture rocks for sure!
The germination was great on this one, pretty much all the planted seed not only sprouted, but survived. Maybe I put special care into these because I love the flavor and texture so much. I don't want to live without this plant ever again!

As described. Good germination.
We have nice fertile soil in our greenhouse and able to control those pesty little flea beetles that can decimate eggplants foliage. I've been keeping them under control with DE and my eggplants are massive in size, about 3-4 feet tall with 1 foot lower leaves.
The eggplants fruit are developing nicely, nearly doubling in size daily. There are plenty of blossoms too. We're expecting that we won't need to grow more for a few years, we're planning on freeze drying most if them.
I purchased several packs of seeds from MiGardener during the semi annual sale, and they did not disappoint! Nearly 100 percent germination rate on all seeds I've planted. The only thing I haven't been able to germinate is lemon grass, which I'm learning may 1 take a very long time to germinate in general and 2 need bottom heat to help them sprout. Even without being on sale 2 bucks a seed pack for the amount they give (very generous compared to other companies, I might add) is a crazy good deal. If you have been on the fence, I encourage you to give MiGardener seeds a try! Thank you Luke and team, and Happy Gardening to all!
I'm not a seasoned gardener, so I don't necessarily know what's normal or not, but out of all the seeds I planted (got about a dozen different herbs and greens from MIgardener), the fenugreek was the quickest to sprout, had the highest germination rate, and the largest sprouting leaves. I'm pretty excited to watch them grow into beautiful plants.
Gardening for over 40 years. The Trifecta very impressed has all the elements I want in a fertilizer. Next year I will buy the largest amount.
