Brassica oleracea var. sabellica. An heirloom variety with 3″ wide blue-green leaves. The leaves reach up to 18″ long and are healthy and delicious. The plant is very cold tolerant and a prolific producer. Leaves become more tender and flavorful after a hard frost. Tastes great when steamed or stir-fried, versatile enough for juicing. Replace these kale leaves with traditional lettuce wraps for a crunchier wrap, make sure to massage the leaves in lemon juice before serving for the best nutrients and flavor! Excellent Source Of Vitamins C and A, Phytonutrients, Iron, and Calcium.
Excellent germination and very hardy. We have some large plants in pots that survived outside on the porch in the 50's, as well as in the 90's (in the shade), when the Swiss chard has wilted. This is one that I've shared with many others (we are volunteering in Bolivia right now), as well as recommended to my family in the states for their personal gardens. Excellent!
I love buying seeds from MIgardener because the germination rate is very high.
My favorite kale. i love the good reliable seeds from MIgardner. Just planted for a Fall crop and got excellent germination.
This variety of kale is very cold hardy.
But I’ve had great success even in the heat of summer growing it.
I’ve learned to keep harvesting a few times a week and that helps encourage more plant growth.
Fantastic for Canning your own greens. The texture doesn’t break down as easily and isn’t pure mush when canned like other varieties.
Such a beautiful kale! I just love how this kale looks and tastes! Grows well too!!

I grew only a few seeds, but they came up fine, and I was able to get some delicious, sweet melon! I sprayed it once with a copper fungicide, and I should have done it a second time, but I still go melons. (I have a struggle with fungal problems here). Easy to grow, easy to eat!
This stuff feed my garden all summer. Highly recommend
This was one of my first tomatoes from MIgardener seed and I loved it so much. Very tasty green tomato, and even though it was only in a smallish container, it was one of my best producers! Nice clusters (not quite so big and dense as the photo, for me at least...) and great flavor for eating fresh in the garden. I'm not the best with tomatoes, I don't treat them as well as I should, and I grow in Seattle (8b?) which is finicky weather every year, so I was surprised these did so well! Will definitely grow again. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures saved on the vine, but the little green one in the attached photo is one of them!
Love sales. Time to stock up
Pollinators love this flower. Especially honey bees.
They grew in spring then reseeded themselves for fall.
