This Italian variety is as flavorful as it is long. It is known as ‘snake gourd’ because of its appearance and ability to bend and twist like one. The flavor is tender, almost cucumber meets zucchini. . .cucuzzi-ish! Fruits start off fuzzy and as they mature they become shinier as the flesh thickens. Try this steamed, roasted, grilled, or even in soups. The uses are endless for this world-famous Italian squash.
I planted several seeds in composted in ground beds with a cattle panel trellis. It was a bit slow to sprout but once it did, it took over the entire three section cattle panel trellis, rounding the top and coming down the other side. I have many fruits started, the largest one is around 2 ft now with more on the way. I am impressed. Zone 6b outside of St Louis mo.
Never grown this before but glad I tried it. I have one plant and it’s huge and they are delicious. It doesn’t seem to mind the heat and drought we are experiencing 7b.
Mst of the seeds I bought from you are not even sprouting, out of about for dozen cucuzzi squash seeds I planted (and re planted again), only one dozen came up at all. Same with my bean seeds, peas, and so on. Wondering if you're selling really old seeds....
I’m never had these kind of squash before I’m interested in them that’s why I bought them. I like to see them hang and grow here. Very interesting squash.
Only planted one seed and it germinated. Even though it was viciously attacked by squash bugs I got a huge one to full size to save. Not sure how it survived the amount of squash bugs on the vine.
