AnnualSalvia rosmarinus. Rosemary is one of the most popular herbs used in Mediterranean cooking. Rosemary will grow in dry conditions making it great for gardens that receive less rainfall and does well in containers. Prefers partial sun, but can survive in full sun if need be. The flavor is earthy, with notes of pine and citrus. Does well in a kitchen windowsill garden because of its low light tolerance. Note: when started from seed it can take 3-4 weeks to germinate. Patience is key and fresh rosemary is worth the wait!

I tried soaking some of the seeds first and direct planted some. I wasn't sure which method would work better. But...None of the seeds germinated/sprouted. This was even using heat pads and/or grow lights. Disappointed but may try again next year.
I usually always get a sprout for every MI Gardener seed I plant and this Rosemary was no exception!!

Great germination and very prolific.
I grew this in a straw bale garden in 2025 and really enjoyed it. It grew amazingly well and was beautiful, so I purchased more for 2026. Michigan zone 6b.
I have grown these for the last few years and they are hands down my favorite. I like romas and firm tomatoes. These remind me of mini romas. These are less prone to splitting, super easy to harvest and has a super great flavor and very meaty. YUM!
The cloves are large, full and heavy. Of the two cloves I kept (shared 2 with my daughter), 12 were large enough to plant, 1 will be consumed.
Received 9 or 10 large, nice quality cloves of elephant garlic. Packaged nicely. Planted them right up and looking forward to seeing what sprouts next season.
