AnnualThis variety has tender, medium-green leaves resembling those of an oak tree. The heads are slow bolting and compact. Wonderful for the container-growing gardener. The quick growing time makes Oakleaf lettuce good for areas with short growing seasons.

As a homeschooling project, my seven year old grew this cauliflower, which is his favorite vegetable. He entered it into the county fair and won a first place prize. Easy to grow, and kept covered with a mesh fabric. Purchased the same seeds again, this time trying winter sowing in a raised garden bed with 6ml plastic hooped over top. Starting to head out again even if the outdoor temps are 30-40 during the day and 30-20 at night
