Golden Detroit beet is a vibrant variety known for its striking golden-yellow roots and mild, sweet flavor. This variety is the best-tasting raw beet on the market! Its savory and earthy flavor has a touch of sweetness that complements instead of overpowers. This variety will not bleed its color once cooked; instead, the bright orange will turn to a beautiful mustard yellow. The green tops are also edible, offering a nutritious addition to salads and sautés. Golden Detroit beets are hardy and disease-resistant and provide a colorful, flavorful, and versatile option for any home garden.

Good Germination Rates

Our golden beet seeds from MIGardener had a very good germination rates, but they are a bit leggy (only veg/herb out of about 3 dozen showing legginess for us at this point), hoping they will hang in there. Very impressed with MIGardener's seeds so far this growing season.

MI Gardener is my “go to” for vegetable seeds

MI Gardener is my “go to” for vegetable seeds. I liked that they send follow up emails regarding the status of my order. Most of all I liked that they are affordable. I have not yet planted the seeds yet but I look forward to doing so. This season I plan to use tule netting over my beets and for extra protection I’ll plant dill or lavender to attract parasitoid wasps that will control the leaf miners.

Seedlings came up great 100% germination. Waiting until lit warms a bit more before putting in the garden.
