Ocimum basilicum x purpurascens. Blue Spice basil is an aromatic herb variety known for its unique blend of vanilla and clove scents, making it a delightful addition to both gardens and kitchens. The plant produces attractive, purple-tinged leaves and delicate lavender flowers. Ideal for culinary use, its sweet and spicy flavor enhances dishes, teas, and desserts. Try them as a filler in your next bouquet.
Yummy fragrance and healthy plants.
Great quality at a price that can't be beat!
This has become one of my favorite varieties of basil (and I very much enjoy basil!). An excellent germination rate (pretty much 100%), and once established, a very happy plant, indeed. At one point last season (2024), I cut back the basil as it had started to shade out some other plants. I also harvested about half late in the season. Well, cut and come again-there was plenty in the fall to harvest before the frost came. I highly recommend drying and using for herbal tea for the winter with a touch of raw honey. The bees quite enjoyed visiting the flowers once in bloom. :)
I love this basil
The germination rate was amazing. Makes a wonderful tea. Let is go to flower at the end of the season and pollinators love it too.

These were cut on April 22nd and planted April 23, 2025. They came up on May 4th. I'm in central SD, zone 4b. Next year, I'll get more!
Hard to leave a review just planted them.. but over all I was pleased when they arrived ❤️
I wasn't sure it would survive when I planted it, but it is growing. Very happy with my purchase
I immediately set this plant outside to begin hardening off. After about 2 weeks, I planted it in it's dedicated grow bag until I get a more permanent planter, and I must say it is living life. It has grown so much since I received it. I believe I'm going to remove the blossoms this year to continue promoting healthy growth.
Love this. I collect stickers on my garden notebook for fun and inspiration and this spoke to me.
