Helichrysum bracteatum. Ideal for dried or fresh cut arrangements, this paper thin double flowered variety will hold its color indefinitely after cutting. Strong stems and flower heads that can grow up to 2" across. Rustic red with touches of burnt orange are a perfect combination together. I thought I was going to like the purple strawflower better and I was mistaken, that's beautiful too, but, wow, the copper red is gorgeous and dries very well. Ants loved it as much as I did.
I grew this flower for the first time in 2024. I fell in love. The color was very pleasing to look at. I cut flowers to send with visitors and they were just as captivated. If you are really observant you will see them open and close. I planted some on my daughters deck and it was her most favorite plant as well.
So my Strawflower seeds germinated the following growing season after I planted but oh my goodness, the wait was worth it! This strawflower produces gorgeous color that does not fade once dried. I got so many compliments on it at our local market.
I have a few of these that survived the humid summer growing in my garden right now. They are a pretty color but don't look like the shape in the picture. Mine have larger, protruding petals that splay off to the side like a daisy or black-eyed Susan and are more banded rather tan a gradient. I'd like to plant more in the future to se if the shape varies, and to fill in the gaps in my patch of flowers. The orange looks great in the Fall! I would take a photo of my blooming one or two but it's raining hard outside.

Arrived quickly, can't wait to plant this for spring
I've not had them sprout yet, as I've winter sown them and expect their tini-ness to be visible next spring and I'll plant them then...But, Your seeds are always viable, so I've no doubt they will be great in this instance also.
If a flower could wink, the Chocolate Cherry Sunflower absolutely would. These seeds don’t just grow—they perform. I planted them expecting a pretty pop of color. What I got was a full-on backyard drama starring velvety mahogany petals, smoldering ruby undertones, and bees treating them like a five-star resort.
These little overachievers sprout fast, grow strong, and then burst into velvety red-and-chocolate blooms that look like sunflowers dressed for a black-tie gala.
They’re bold, dramatic, and total showstoppers—the kind of flowers that make neighbors slow down and ask what on earth you planted.
If you want something easy, reliable, and downright stunning, this is the sunflower. Honestly? They’ve ruined plain yellow sunflowers for me. 🌻🍒✨
Planted this is in my side yard, just gorgeous, tons of butterflies and pollinators all year, going to get more and do more areas, maybe even some graffitti gardening
First time ever growing chia . 2 out of the 3 came up. Still little seedlings so far so good.
