Good Mother Stallard pole bean is a cherished heirloom variety renowned for its rich, nutty flavor and striking appearance. The beans are mottled with beautiful maroon and white patterns. These vigorous climbing plants reach maturity in about 85-95 days, producing high yields of tender, flavorful beans. Ideal for soups, stews, and salads, Good Mother Stallard beans maintain their shape and texture well during cooking.
Pretty colors
Beautiful beans arrived early- plan to plant in spring
Ordered more packets for summer!
Everything arrived in great condition, and I can't wait to plant them.
I'm growing in Ohio Zone 6B. Last year, I paired two pole bean varieties on a zig-zagging bamboo terrace: Cherokee and Good Mother Stallard. These varieties pair well because the pods look very different (with long-thin pods that dry to red/purple on the Cherokee and flatter pods that dry to yellow/brown for Good Mother Stallard), so it's easy to tell which bean you are harvesting. The Good Mother Stallard beans were the later of the two to begin producing pods, with larger beans but fewer per pod (usually three to five). The dried beans are gorgeous, mottled burgundy and white, and they hold their shape well during cooking. They are also quite tasty!
We planted several of your beans and found the pinto bean being our favorite and most used, not that we don't also like the other beans. I had never grown beans before and had no idea of how easy and low maintenance they require. We plan to triple the amount at our next planting.
Most beautiful herbal, medicinal plant, hummingbirds and especially chonky bumble bees absolutely love it… extremely attractive plant .. drought resistant loves full sun.
I planted strawflowers from MIGardener last summer and absolutely loved them. Ordered 6 packs of various colors for this year’s garden. Can’t wait!
These are the most beautiful Dahlias I’ve ever grown. The best part is the surprise of what each bloom will be. I’m lucky to live in coastal Louisiana so I don’t have to dig them up every year. Having them as perennials is a joy!
I have used Trifecta now for a good four seasons. It is worth the investment as I definitely have seen an improvement in my raised bed vegetable gardens and their yield. As far as I'm concerned whatever Luke Marion says is good....then it's good!
