Determinate - The New Yorker tomato is an early-maturing, determinate variety developed for cooler climates and short growing seasons. Compact and sturdy, it produces round, 4-6 ounce medium-sized red fruits with a classic tomato flavor—slightly tangy and well-balanced. Maturing in just 65 days, it’s ideal for northern gardeners or areas with unpredictable weather. The plants are disease-resistant and thrive in containers or small garden spaces. New Yorker tomatoes are excellent for slicing, salads, and light cooking.
Thank you for delivering such wonderful seeds.
Always excellent quality and service with beyond reasonable prices! Especially for small backyard gardeners wanting to try different varieties, best deal on the internet! Luke’s informational videos to the excellent customer service, great small business to support! Thank you for doing what you do, reaches farther than you probably realize.
Fast shipping as usual, great seeds.
I grew the New Yorker Tomato and overall there was good production-- consistent tomatoes on the vines into the Fall; however the tomatoes were very susceptible to splitting/cracking with variance in soil moisture due to heavy rainfalls intermixed with periods of drought (even though I watered appropriately when dry and had good soil drainage in the garden bed), and so I lost a lot of tomatoes due to rot. I am going to look for a crack-resistant tomato variety to plant.
I've grown these for 2 years and am impressed by the production and hardiness of the plant. Fruits were decent sized and had much more flavor than I anticipated. It's a good fresh eating and canning tomato.

First time ever growing chia . 2 out of the 3 came up. Still little seedlings so far so good.
I love these seed trays! Super sturdy!
Excellent choices of varieties, all of which grow great in my area. I can't wait to winter sow them in a month or two. From past experience I have complete confidence that they will germinate and produce. Thanks, MIGardener!
Fun way to get new interesting varieties in the garden, I love the grab bags! My sister and I have purchased these for the last few years and we make a big deal about the big reveal. We video-call each delivery (we both purchase more than one set) and play some sort of game or announcement of each packet . It’s the highlight of fall and helps us get over the end of gardening season blues!
The taste of this tomato is super sweet. I made pico de gallo and it was a treat. I got a one pound tomato in my grow bag.
