Swiss chard is packed with vitamins and minerals, it can be grown in hot climates as well as cold, handling it all with ease. If you plant it, just get ready for neighbors to be fed as well. Production will increase with every harvest. The fordhook variety specifically is one of the most prolific producers of swiss chard.
The chard grew really well against a West boarder fence facing East and getting lots of sun with late afternoon shade. My chickensand I enjoyed the abundance from just 2 plants in 2025. Thanks
So easy to grow and just keeps on producing, we picked this for over 6 months then had volunteers come up in the spring.
Planning ahead.
The Fordhook Swiss Chard is great. I grow it every year. It grows well and tastes great. I can grow it in Spring, Summer, Fall and it comes back the next Spring. I have tried to grow other colors of Swiss Chard, but I find that the Fordhook Swiss Chard grows the best.
Germination rates are high on all the MI Gardener seeds I’ve purchased, and customer service is great!!
I grow these every year and they do very well. The harvest never makes it back into the house. I love to snack on them while I’m in the garden and my kids enjoy them too.
Rose tomatoe. I planted 5 seeds 4 germinated. I already transplanted them.
This basil is insane!! It’s growing so fast and the leaves are as big as the palm of my hand!
Awesome color on these. Beautiful addition to the (majority pink shades) zinnias I usually grow.
I have way more celery than I have room to plant!
