I didn’t think much of scarlet kale at first because the leaves were smaller than other variety for me growing in Florida, but chop them up and steam them for about 60seconds and they are tender and delicious. Don’t expect as big harvest compared to other variety. I believe they have slightly less pests due to the leaves color as well.

First time growing kale or a garden for that matter. They are doing great so far super easy and fun.

It really does get that purple! Its beautiful!

This grows very similar to blue scotch with a beautiful purple color. I’m not sure if I can taste any difference, but it looks beautiful. Germination rate was good.

Beautiful color and survives very well during cold months so far.

Hardier than I could have thought! I forgot this with a couple other seedlings last spring, then transplanted it to an air pot. When I moved, it did as well as it could under constant attack by deer and wildlife. Low and behold after months of constant abuse in Maryland here, it has survived. There’s some growing leaves on top in the dead of winter. I’m excited to give it a better, fenced home soon.

literally 100% germination in less than ideal conditions! This has produced some beautiful baby kale leaves for salads. Love it! I will try kale chips when it gets larger. I would recommend.

This was my first year growing this variety, and I’m glad I did. First of all, the plants are just gorgeous. Could easily be planted as an ornamental. They were super productive and very hardy. It’s crazy cold here in the northeast, but this kale is still going strong. I will be growing lots of this again next year!

Incredibly impressive kale variety. I started a few seedlings in different settings to “play around with this plant”, needless to say that it surpassed all my expectations.

First of all the coulour is great, it starts out as a green plant and will get darker more beautiful as the summer goes by. I actually used some of them with my flowers on the front of my appartment.
I had different results depending on the soil.

1: planted seedlings mid summer in rocky topsoil in front of my appartment, terrible soil and I watered about every 3 days. They grew deep purple and a descent size, no pest trouble.
2: Planted 2 in my herb smart pot filled with pro-mix all purpose, they had maybe 1 gallon to themselves and about 6-7 inches of soil depth. These two plants EXPLODED in size and grew to almost 4 feet in height. They took our first frosts like a champ i and survived for at least three weeks after I uprooted and threw them in out in the field with sub freezing temperatures every night.

Only thing about this plant is that you have to be really careful about the cabbage caterpillars because they love them.

Loved this kale, during heat waves it didn’t get tough and slight bitter as bad as other varieties. Pests also preferred green kale over the purple so that was a nice touch. A must grow.

Germination rate is at 100%. Easy to grow even in hot climates.

Apparently it’s delicious, but I wouldn’t know, you’d have to ask the rabbits. Germinated well though.

I just planted these earlier in the week and a couple have already sprouted. This is my first time with this strain of kale. Can’t wait to see it in my garden

    Looks great, taste marginal

Delicious, beautiful, and barely touched by cabbage worms compared to my other varieties. Slightly less vigorous but So beautiful that you could even include it in ornamental plantings to get more from it.

Good germination, pretty, and tasty. Will hold up well in my raised bed in western Canada all winter without cover or worry. Will grow again.
