Brassica oleracea. This stunning purple kale is one of the darkest kale varieties in the world. The hotter the weather gets, the deeper purple it becomes. Cold hardy and frost tolerant, the scarlet kale is a MIgardener favorite. The plant is packed with nutrients and antioxidants due to its purple color. Great in salads or juiced. A VERY rare and sought-after variety.

Easy sprouting

I sprouted this inside and directly sowed it in the ground. I can't wait until it's big enough to start harvesting!

Stunning Kale, but, a bit smaller than my others.

This kale - especially during the winter - is absolutely stunning, but, it never seems to really take off like my other kales do. But, then again, maybe my other kales are just behemoths - hahah!

Didn't grow as well as the others..

Yummy and long lasting

This grew great for me in the Colorado plains. I had it under agfabric net. It lasted a long time through cold and also heat of summer. Was tender and mild. I will keep growing this kind.
