I am growing in Ohio, Zone 6B. I planted three varieties of hardneck garlic in fall 2023: Music, German White and Chesnok Red. Music was the champion of the three, consistently producing the largest heads with big cloves. After harvesting and curing, I stored the heads in a hanging herb rack in my garage, and they kept through the summer and fall before I used them all up (aside from the seed heads I reserved and planted in October).
I had originally bought some music from another site (horrible site) and the bulbs were super small. I had just discovered migardener and while it was a wee bit late in the season I grabbed the same amount of garlic from them too and another variety from them as well to plant. I know garlic translates size to size aka the other smaller bulbs I got are probably going to form small plants.
Hopefully I wasn't too late planting them here, but the size I got from migardener were most excellent. They were double the size of the ones I originally got from another shall not be named site. If they don't grow that's on me for planting too late in the season but I'm hopeful I can get a harvest from them. If not I'll buy them again next year from here and plant earlier.
Highly recommend!
Beautiful heads of garlic. Way to go Migardener. Thank you
It hasn't been harvest time so I can't say if it comes up yet lol but I had ordered from another company and they were horribly small bulbs so I ordered here and the bulbs were a lot bigger and looked healthy so I'm hopeful I planted in time :) We'll see this summer. :)
very surprised with the size of the cloves, they looked like elephant garlic big.
