Atomic red carrots were just planted in my raised bed 3 weeks ago. I worked the soil really well so it was very light and fluffy and really saturated. I made a thin furrow and lightly covered them, just barely. A friend of mine gave me a tip for better germination which in combo of these seeds' fantastic quality gave me fantastic results. The tip is: use a board to cover the seeds for several days at a time between waterings. This helps them stay moist longer and gives them the darkness they want. Once they sprouted, I thinned the ones out that clumped together dramatically and added Sluggo around the bed since I have an issue this year with slugs, snails and rollie pollies.

Excellent germination rate and very healthy seedlings.

These were beautiful and tasty. Wish I had watered better to get more to germinate.
