It has a more delicate flavor and fragrance than Genovese basil. This basil is ideal for culinary uses, especially in Italian dishes like pesto, salads, and sauces.
The Italian basil isn’t growing very fast. I’ve never grown any basil before and I’m sure I’m the reason. My wife cooks with fresh basil frequently and keeps asking if she can cut some. I think it just needs more time.
I truly love to eat basil and use in frozen dishes as well. It’s so nice to enjoy during the winter as well.
