Easily one of the prettiest varieties of mustard, and possibly one of the most elegant vegetables for the garden! This mustard grows in rosettes of dark green, spoon-shaped leaves. Excellent in a salad or a stir-fry. Plant seed in spring after the threat of frost has passed. Keep well watered and out of the heat to prevent bolting. The best soil is one that is well-draining with lots of compost for good root penetration.

Versatile, attractive, easy to grow

This small powerhouse is one of my favorite Asian greens. I grow it ornamentally for its beautiful rosettes that I can pick daily from. Grew well in in spring up until the heat of July hot when it went to bloom and I enjoyed the flowers in salads. Fall I replanted and it’s almost January and my cute rosettes are still hanging on here in the freezing nights of late December. Had a less earthy and more mild flavor so wonderful in fresh or tossed in soups and stirfry.

True to the description

Germination rates were great, about 90-95% germinated pretty much all at the same time too. It was really interesting to watch. Unfortunately, I did not water these well enough and they bolted like crazy. We ate the flowers in our salads!
I should have brought the pots in when it was above 80, but I did not. I forgot all about them. I will be planting these again next month.

My husband loves to walk by and grab a leaf or two and nibble on it when puttering around the yard 😀

Best Greens

These are the best greens I’ve ever eaten. They have a sweet and slight pepper taste. I would highly recommend!
