Also known as the Middle Eastern cucumber, this variety was cultivated in Israel. Spineless fruits and smooth skin make for enjoyable eating and harvesting. Sweet and flavorful, these are perfect for fresh eating and snacking. This is a parthenocarpic variety, meaning it produces fruit without pollination. The ideal picking size is around 5-6 inches.
I planted these indoors over the winter and we enjoyed picking and eating them!
I have tried multiple times to grow cucumbers without success. We are growing these at 10,000 feet above sea level in a small greenhouse and they are doing great. They grow pretty fast, are super crunchy and flavorful.
This is probably the best cucumber I've ever eaten. My kids also loved the flavor. The seeds had excellent germination (I think they all sprouted). T he plants have been healthy and have had a great yield. I am disappointed that they are covered in small spines however. They need to be scrubbed well before eating because of this. I will definitely grow them again.
I've planted a lot of seeds in my time, but the MIgardner seeds are so much appreciated for their amount of seeds, packaging, fast delivery and quality. I was shocked to see them come up in TWO DAYS. Most brands that cost from $1.79 to nearly $4.00 have enough seeds to fill a thimble, and at the 2-day point are just sort of THINKING about coming up. Thank you for the knowledge you share, your smiley face and a reputable business.
Sincerely,
An Arkie hillbilly who wears shoes, has all her teeth, doesn't chew on a hayseed, doesn't know how to pick 'n grin, and my husband only wears his dress overalls and brogans on Sundays. Y'all come on down! ☺
I planted these for the first time this year. They were the first to produce and have not stopped. We have harvested 5 cucumbers before any of the others started to produce female flowers.
