A classic favorite in the garden. Mostly used for sprouting, but once full maturity is reached dark purple heads will form. Eaten fresh these will retain their purple hue, however once cooked they will turn green again. Worth growing in any garden!
Purple Sprouting Broccoli
There is so much pest pressure (Slugs, Cabbage moth and Aphids) on all my brassicas and I refuse to spray my food so I've opted out of most of the brassica family. I still grow some cabbage and kale. I start the seed for the Purple Sprouting Broccoli in June or July and plant them out by September. They overwinter and the harvest is ready in March before all the pest can get to it. And it's beautiful to look at. I toss them in olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper then roast in the oven.
The plant itself grew just fine, several of them grew to the size of the rest of my kale plants. My only problem is that they never sprouted! From spring through to winter now those plants have only produced leaves. Giving them another go in 2025 and hopefully I'll be able to update this with a better score.
When I saw this I just knew that I had to add it to my order! I will definitely be planting this in the fall.

Trifecta has been my trusted partner in the garden for my vegetables and to start my dahlias. Thank you MI Gardener team!
Fantastic Zucchini!! Very tender tasty and huge :)))
As described. Good germination.
We have nice fertile soil in our greenhouse and able to control those pesty little flea beetles that can decimate eggplants foliage. I've been keeping them under control with DE and my eggplants are massive in size, about 3-4 feet tall with 1 foot lower leaves.
The eggplants fruit are developing nicely, nearly doubling in size daily. There are plenty of blossoms too. We're expecting that we won't need to grow more for a few years, we're planning on freeze drying most if them.
I purchased several packs of seeds from MiGardener during the semi annual sale, and they did not disappoint! Nearly 100 percent germination rate on all seeds I've planted. The only thing I haven't been able to germinate is lemon grass, which I'm learning may 1 take a very long time to germinate in general and 2 need bottom heat to help them sprout. Even without being on sale 2 bucks a seed pack for the amount they give (very generous compared to other companies, I might add) is a crazy good deal. If you have been on the fence, I encourage you to give MiGardener seeds a try! Thank you Luke and team, and Happy Gardening to all!
