I purchased several types of sunflowers, but none started. The only sunflower seeds that have popped came from my bird feeders. I have been gardening a very long time and have never had that result. There was no evidence that the critters disturbed them. Sad.

We have nice fertile soil in our greenhouse and able to control those pesty little flea beetles that can decimate eggplants foliage. I've been keeping them under control with DE and my eggplants are massive in size, about 3-4 feet tall with 1 foot lower leaves.
The eggplants fruit are developing nicely, nearly doubling in size daily. There are plenty of blossoms too. We're expecting that we won't need to grow more for a few years, we're planning on freeze drying most if them.
