AnnualIndeterminate - Although this heirloom originated in the Ukraine, it is named after a Russian city for unknown reasons. Deep burgundy/ green in color with a flattened globe shape. This variety is grown for slicing with its low acidity and sweetness. Yields tomatoes that can weigh up to 1 lb each! Ideal for juicing or canning. In hotter climates, this variety can have a slightly smoky flavor. Stake for best airflow.
Black from Tula seeds germinated quickly. Has a great flavor darkish color. It's a must-have in my garden

We have nice fertile soil in our greenhouse and able to control those pesty little flea beetles that can decimate eggplants foliage. I've been keeping them under control with DE and my eggplants are massive in size, about 3-4 feet tall with 1 foot lower leaves.
The eggplants fruit are developing nicely, nearly doubling in size daily. There are plenty of blossoms too. We're expecting that we won't need to grow more for a few years, we're planning on freeze drying most if them.
