AnnualDetroit Dark Red beet is a classic heirloom variety known for its deep red, globe-shaped roots and excellent flavor. This beet matures in about 55-60 days, making it a reliable choice for gardeners. Plant in well-drained, fertile soil with full sun exposure. Sow seeds 1 inch apart and thin seedlings to 3-4 inches to allow for proper root development. Consistent watering is essential for optimal growth and sweetness. 2024 was a good beet year, all varieties did well, but DDR was the favorite! Amazing color, even for a beet....
Germinated quickly and good sized beets
I am not a beet lover but my Dad had been talking about the pickled beets that his grandmother had made when he was a kid. The description of the Detroit Deep Red Beet sounded closest. I grew them and then followed the pickled beet recipe from the USDA. He said that it was exactly what he remembered and the best that he had ever had. I would include a photo but he has eaten them all.

I was so excited to receive this bare root raspberry! I followed the directions that came with the plant and planted in a 20lbs grow bag. After a week and a half I saw new growth and within a week it new growth points. Can’t wait to taste/see the fruit.
This guide is full of great information for the dormant plants. This is our first year starting these plants and also using your seeds for our plants and have had huge success with everything from MIgardener. I have watched several videos and have found so much information. Thank you!
I'm giving this 5 stars because I've grown them before... however when my seeds arrived, I left them unattended on our dining room table while I went outside to collect eggs... and my puppy helped herself to the packet.
My fault- the carrots were awesome the year I previously grew them... I'll just miss out this year- no biggie! 🤣
Well, they just started to came out of the ground. But so far they looked great!! Just happy with them. And you can’t beat the price!!! Thank you for all that y’all do for us gardeners!!
i was pleased with my order. planted the tomatoes and now under grow lights. almost every seed germinated, super excited to get them in the ground in a couple weeks
