Cichorium intybus. Chicory is a versatile plant known for its bitter, flavorful leaves and vibrant blue flowers. Widely used in culinary applications, chicory leaves can be enjoyed raw in salads, adding a slightly bitter edge, or cooked to mellow their flavor. The plant’s roots are often roasted and ground as a coffee substitute or additive. Rich in vitamins A, C, and K, as well as fiber and minerals, chicory supports overall health. It’s also used medicinally to aid digestion and liver function.
I haven't planted my latest batch of seeds, but they arrived quickly and in perfect shape. Migardener has a wonderful selection of seeds and I have never had any germination issues with any of them.
I have grown chicory in the past and really loved the color of the flowers. I was so glad to be able to snatch a packet of seeds. This year I plan harvesting for the roots, drying and roasting them to see if I can make a coffee substitute.
Quick germination
Awesome producer and neat looking fruit! The abundant cucumber beetles seem to ignore the vines too!
Haven’t planted yet. Looking forward to adding to salads! So happy MIgarden had these. Hard to find Microgreen seeds
So far all 6 seeds that I planted have germinated and are growing well. I am planning on transplanting them into bigger pots soon until they’re ready for the garden.
My old reliable variety, always produces an abundance of tomatoes towards the end of the season!
Little pepper plants popped up quickly, they seem to be doing very well thus far.
