Start indoors, plant out in flower garden. These are very vivid flowers, and make great cut flowers as well. They can be over wintered in colder climates. after the first frost, cut the dahlia stalks back to about 6 inches, wait a couple of weeks, then carefully dig up the tubers, gently clean them, let them dry and cure in a cool, dark, well-ventilated place, like a cardboard box, until spring when you can replant them
