This French variety was first documented in 1883 and was known as a market favorite for centuries. It looks more squash-like but is filled with some of the sweetest cantaloupe fruit you'll ever taste. Produces four melons per hill and will continue throughout the season.

will grow this instead of cantaloupe

its so easy to tell when these are ripe (the stem separates from the melon no need to sniff LOL) and they taste so good that I'll be growing these every year. they are large so plenty to share. it was up to 108 degrees this summer in Kansas but the melons were happy , mulch kept the moister in the ground. the biggest issue I had was when 3 melons ripened the same day , next year I will stagger the planting a little more.
