AnnualNamed for an island off the coast of South Carolina, this variety was introduced in 1952. Crisp and sweet, this beloved heirloom has been a favorite for generations (especially on the Eastern Seaboard where it originates). Tall, uniform leaves create the perfect shape for lettuce wraps or boats for dips and dressings.
This lettuce has been growing wonderfully for me. Very productive and pretty.

Great germination and a good amount of seeds
I planted these seeds as a fall crop in pots in Southern Ontario, Canada, and Oh Boy did they ever grow fast!! Still harvesting these as cut and come again, going into December. You can't go wrong with terrific, tender lettuce variety.
