Cold hardy and delicious in every way! This green was used for many years as a garnish until people finally started getting smart and began eating it! The leaves are slightly bitter with a nice deep earthy green flavor. Amazing in salads, blended up for green cold soup, or juiced. Rich in vitamins, fiber, and minerals. Very similar to lettuce, but once you try endive; you will feel as if every salad is bland. The flavor is intense and robust.

Been a consistent producer even in hot weather.This has become my go to salad green year round (zone 8B).

Beautiful endive easy to grow. It looks wonderful and it tastes good. I grow this endive in 5 gallon pots without any problems.

Super good so far!

The Batavians are overgrowing their starting trays and ready to be planted outside. Very nice leaves. We just got a hot weather forecast (again) so I may try to hold off another day or two before planting out. I have high hopes that these will thrive in the fall garden. They are off to a great start. I had very good germination, not fussy at all about germinating.
