The Rio Zape pole bean is an heirloom variety treasured for its unique, rich flavor and beautiful appearance. The beans are medium-sized with a striking deep maroon color, often speckled with black markings. Known for their creamy texture and slightly sweet, earthy taste, Rio Zape beans are perfect for soups, stews, and refried beans. The sturdy bush plants are highly productive, maturing in about 90 days.
I have had great success with all of my bean purchases from M I Gardener. They are my favorite place to shop for seeds!
These beans earned more space. Fantastic production with very little maintenance. Zone 6b
These took a LONG time to mature but were worth the wait! They took over everything growing around them but I'm not complaining. I will be growing twice as much as last yr because they were so delicious and pretty too. Grown in N. MS zone 8a
These grew beautifully for me in Michigan, zone 5A. They made THE BEST refried beans my family has ever had. We look forward to growing much more next year.
I ordered these a little late in the season, but whimsically sowed about a dozen anyway, hoping for a late frost. I got lucky! These beans are absolutely gorgeous, and I was able to harvest about a cup of shelled beans per 8-10 plants. I saved most of my seed packages for next season, but am not worried about germination rates--they keep for quite a while if stored properly (dry, cool, etc...).
Also, this is a bush bean. The website may say pole, but the packaging and my experience say they are definitely a bush--roughly 2' high, and I didn't even give them the chance they deserve by planting them on time. These are seriously great, give them a try!
Nice I like it. Its perfect
Awesome carrots. Love the mix of colors.
This is my favorite lettuce! Hard to find near me. So glad MIgardener had it.
The seeds came quickly and were in good condition. I have had good germination rates with them as well. It's my first time growing celery. We'll see how the rest of the growing season goes.
Growing great. Over 95% came up and are over 6 inches tall already.
