I got this seed late last season, and just for funsies put some seeds in the dirt. I was pleased to see it come up quick and I had a nice little fennel plant in the fall. Cool. Then it lived through the winter, even better right?! And then it just kept growing. Now it is almost as tall as I am and the stalks are about as big around as my 7 year olds arm. My neighbor asked what kind of tree is that? So yeah, this one's a winner and my new favorite licorice tree.
