Akita Dahlias are a beautiful and vibrant flower that will add a pop of color to any garden. These stunning blooms feature deep-pink petals with a sunny yellow center, and can grow up to 4 inches in diameter. Akita Dahlias typically bloom from mid-summer to fall, and they thrive in growing zones 8-11.
In addition to their stunning appearance, Akita Dahlias are also easy to grow and care for. They prefer full sun and well-drained soil, and require regular watering throughout the growing season. With proper care, these flowers can reach heights of up to 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide, making them a great choice for border plantings or container gardens.
Bloomtime: Midsummer-Fall
Spacing: 20"
In Zones 8-11, they are considered a Perennial if the tubers are dug up. In Zones 2-7, they are an Annual
Came packaged well. Still have to plant.
Many of the tubers had broken necks and im not sure if they will be viable
One tuber broken and crumbling. The other was missing. I emailed the company. They took some time to respond, but I finally heard back. The said the crumbly tuber was normal (it’s not normal if they are properly stored) and that they would replace the missing item. Haven’t heard from them again. No shipping confirmation or tracking info. Not sure I will receive anything. Money/time wasted.

Great fertilizer. Used for the first time last year for my fall bulbs and they were stunning and strong come spring. Planting another 250 bulbs this fall so came back for more bulb fertilizer. I also use the Trifecta. Can’t go wrong with any of Luke’s amendments.
Great germination and very prolific.
I grew this in a straw bale garden in 2025 and really enjoyed it. It grew amazingly well and was beautiful, so I purchased more for 2026. Michigan zone 6b.
I have grown these for the last few years and they are hands down my favorite. I like romas and firm tomatoes. These remind me of mini romas. These are less prone to splitting, super easy to harvest and has a super great flavor and very meaty. YUM!
The cloves are large, full and heavy. Of the two cloves I kept (shared 2 with my daughter), 12 were large enough to plant, 1 will be consumed.
