A favorite variety for the home gardener. While maintaining its place in the onion family, the American Flag Leek has a more mild and sweet flavor than most onions. Not only is it a close relative to onion, but to garlic as well. The large white stems grow in girth as the leeks mature giving them green flat leaves. A staple in cuisine, leeks give a taste of light onion flavor to soups, stews, or even traditional English meat pies. This variety was bred to endure cold weather.
Planted them today as a fall veg in my GreenStalk!
Exactly as described. Seeds look great and healthy. I haven't had a chance to plant them yet. I will update you when I get them panted in a couple of days.
Great seeds
Great producer. easy to grow
I'm dairy free so I have to make my own clam chowder and shrimp chowder from scratch. The Large American Flag leek was very easy to grow and is VIP to making an unforgettable soup. I live in Aurora, Oregon, zone 8b, 45th parallel and I can plant and grow leeks at any time of the year. It's January 2025 and time to start another batch. Yum

Arrived quickly, can't wait to plant this for spring
I've not had them sprout yet, as I've winter sown them and expect their tini-ness to be visible next spring and I'll plant them then...But, Your seeds are always viable, so I've no doubt they will be great in this instance also.
If a flower could wink, the Chocolate Cherry Sunflower absolutely would. These seeds don’t just grow—they perform. I planted them expecting a pretty pop of color. What I got was a full-on backyard drama starring velvety mahogany petals, smoldering ruby undertones, and bees treating them like a five-star resort.
These little overachievers sprout fast, grow strong, and then burst into velvety red-and-chocolate blooms that look like sunflowers dressed for a black-tie gala.
They’re bold, dramatic, and total showstoppers—the kind of flowers that make neighbors slow down and ask what on earth you planted.
If you want something easy, reliable, and downright stunning, this is the sunflower. Honestly? They’ve ruined plain yellow sunflowers for me. 🌻🍒✨
Planted this is in my side yard, just gorgeous, tons of butterflies and pollinators all year, going to get more and do more areas, maybe even some graffitti gardening
First time ever growing chia . 2 out of the 3 came up. Still little seedlings so far so good.
