Hardneck
1 full head
Persian Star originates back to Uzbekistan. This heirloom variety is a garden favorite with its rich sweet flavor that holds through the cooking process. The Large bulbs produce 9-12 cloves of mild garlic that are easy to peel out of their papery wrapper. The purple stripping on them starts at the root of the bulb and spreads its way up through the cloves. This hardneck variety is great for all gardens! It can be grown in both southern and northern states, and when cultivated well, you will be blessed with a large harvest!
Type: Purple Stripe
Cloves per Bulb: Approx. 9-12 cloves
Flavor Profile: rich and nutty, sweet flavor when roasted, with a mild, spicy zing that mellows after cooking
Storage Life: 5-7 months

Great fertilizer. Used for the first time last year for my fall bulbs and they were stunning and strong come spring. Planting another 250 bulbs this fall so came back for more bulb fertilizer. I also use the Trifecta. Can’t go wrong with any of Luke’s amendments.
Great germination and very prolific.
I grew this in a straw bale garden in 2025 and really enjoyed it. It grew amazingly well and was beautiful, so I purchased more for 2026. Michigan zone 6b.
I have grown these for the last few years and they are hands down my favorite. I like romas and firm tomatoes. These remind me of mini romas. These are less prone to splitting, super easy to harvest and has a super great flavor and very meaty. YUM!
The cloves are large, full and heavy. Of the two cloves I kept (shared 2 with my daughter), 12 were large enough to plant, 1 will be consumed.
