Grape hyacinth (Muscari) Armeniacum flowers are charming spring bloomers known for their vibrant, grape-like clusters of tiny, bell-shaped blossoms. Typically blooming in early to mid-spring, these hardy perennials come in shades of blue. Each flower spike stands about 6-8 inches tall, adding a burst of color to gardens, borders, and containers. They naturalize easily, forming dense, colorful carpets over time. Renowned for their delightful fragrance and low maintenance, grape hyacinths are a favorite among gardeners for creating stunning spring displays.
Hardiness Zones: 3-8
Bloomtime: Mid to Late Spring
Mature Height: 6-8"
Light Requirement: Full Sun, Half Sun/Half Shade
I planted my order of Grape Hyacinth bulbs in my 5b zone and can't wait to see how spectacular they look. I used them in the front edge of a flower bed, and I'm sure it will look beautiful. The bulbs themselves were large and healthy. I will take advice from other gardeners and allow the foliage to die back and feed the buried bulbs so that they come back again the following year.

Great fertilizer. Used for the first time last year for my fall bulbs and they were stunning and strong come spring. Planting another 250 bulbs this fall so came back for more bulb fertilizer. I also use the Trifecta. Can’t go wrong with any of Luke’s amendments.
Great germination and very prolific.
I grew this in a straw bale garden in 2025 and really enjoyed it. It grew amazingly well and was beautiful, so I purchased more for 2026. Michigan zone 6b.
I have grown these for the last few years and they are hands down my favorite. I like romas and firm tomatoes. These remind me of mini romas. These are less prone to splitting, super easy to harvest and has a super great flavor and very meaty. YUM!
The cloves are large, full and heavy. Of the two cloves I kept (shared 2 with my daughter), 12 were large enough to plant, 1 will be consumed.
