Indeterminate - This Polish heirloom is as sweet as candy! The groundcherry is sweet, tart, and savory. A combination of flavors from a tomatillo to slight pineapple is the best of both worlds. Plants produce heavy yields of small husk-covered fruits that fall to the ground at full ripeness. Because of their high pectin content, they are perfect for making jellies, jams, sauces, preserves, and so much more.
Sprouted quickly
I have fond memories of these in my mother's garden and was so excited to find seeds
Seeds germinated well
I absolutely love these ground cherries, or as we call them “garden candy”. Not only do they do really well in my zone (NC zone 8a) but they are super prolific. They volunteer in my garden every year and are so sweet and tasty. Fun fact: they are a wonderful trap crop for pickle worms. I have not had any issues with pickle worms over the last few years that I’ve been growing these because they love them so much. It’s great that they pop up all over the garden so that I can still harvest some for us.
I started two seeds in a hydroponic system on November 29, and both seeds germinated within a few days. They have now been transferred to soil indoors and are thriving! I'm looking forward to tasting the fruit within the next few months.

Hard to leave a review just planted them.. but over all I was pleased when they arrived ❤️
I wasn't sure it would survive when I planted it, but it is growing. Very happy with my purchase
I immediately set this plant outside to begin hardening off. After about 2 weeks, I planted it in it's dedicated grow bag until I get a more permanent planter, and I must say it is living life. It has grown so much since I received it. I believe I'm going to remove the blossoms this year to continue promoting healthy growth.
Love this. I collect stickers on my garden notebook for fun and inspiration and this spoke to me.
Very good seed potatoes, growing well
