Eruca vesicaria sativa. An easily grown green that adds a tangy, peppery flavor to salads. Plant in the spring and again in the fall. Use young leaves when about 2 to 3 inches long for the best flavor, the entire plant including flowers is edible! Use creamy and peppery flowers for a tasty garnish.

Fast germination and growth for Fall garden

It was a pleasant surprise to see how fast the arugula germinated and began growing quickly. The weather here in Minnesota is cooler but very sunny so the arugula growing in my MI container bags is a quick grower. I am expecting a few to harvest in a few weeks to go along with my other 9 MI Gardener bags growing lettuces and beet greens. I have a fresh green salad every day and have a great variety of MI Gardener lettuces and beets to sample from. They are all vigorous and very stunning and I enjoy looking at the variety of shapes, colors and textures.

Lives up to it's Name! World class Heat Resistance!

I'm here in the dessert. I started these seeds several weeks ago and they propagated just fine. We've have several days now where the temps were above 100F and these Arugula have handled it like a champ! In the weather we've had, i've been having a hard time with all my lettuces. Most brassicas do a little better, especially the mustards. But these arugula really outshine everything else! I just took this picture and you can see, Even in 100F, not a single sign of wilting or distress. I grew this variety in 3 different sections of the garden and it's doing fantastic in every part, outperforming everything else I'm growing. Six Stars!

Giving this a try

I have never grown this before but I've heard it is good and so I thought I would try it out. I love salads and people say it's great in salads. If it's like the rest of your seeds, I won't be disappointed. Can't wait to get it growing.
