Rattlesnake pole bean is an heirloom variety celebrated for its striking green pods streaked with purple, resembling a rattlesnake’s skin. These vigorous plants produce long, tender, and stringless beans, reaching maturity in about 60-70 days. Known for their resilience, Rattlesnake beans thrive in hot and dry conditions, making them ideal for diverse climates. The beans have a rich, slightly sweet flavor, perfect for fresh eating, steaming, and canning. They are also excellent dried for soups and stews. Easy to grow and highly productive.
I love this bean so much that it never makes it into the house. Every day I walk through the garden and I pick a handful at about 6 inches long and eat to my hearts content. I plant extra so I can make dilly beans for my daughter and her growing family. I plant these beans in between my indeterminate tomatoes because they all grow to the sky at about the same rate. I used to grow bush beans because they crop out in large quantities but I never really liked the taste and I don't like my beans touching the ground. My brother and sister-in-law swear by the Rattlesnake bean as well.
I'm Gerard from Lebanon Middle East I'm a small scale farmer and I'm happy I took the decision to start buying from you. I wasn't sure about buying these beans but I did and I hope they'll produce well. I will definitely submit a full review after planting them.
Most successful out of all my pole beans this past year. Stuck in there through all of the pests the season threw at it. So many beans!!!
Bought these for summer 2025 and I can’t wait to try them.
This is my favorite. I grow in western WA, where pests and mildew can be a problem. Neither seems to be an issue for these beans. They are beautiful on a trellis and don't get tough or stringy. They also have great flavor and a good amount of beans per plant.
