The Purple Podded Pole Bean is an heirloom variety celebrated for its striking deep purple pods and robust growth habit. These vigorous climbers reach up to 8 feet tall, producing abundant, slender pods that are 5-7 inches long. The beans inside are green and tender, offering a delicious, slightly sweet flavor. They are stringless. When cooked, the pods turn green, adding visual interest to any dish. This variety thrives in well-drained soil with full sun exposure, maturing in about 65-75 days. Highly productive and resistant to common bean diseases, Purple Podded Pole Beans are ideal for fresh eating, canning, and freezing, making them a favorite among gardeners.
Love the bean.
First success with a bean growing!!
I love this pole bean. Grows super easy, and easy to see to harvest. Good germination. Bought 3 packs to be ready for next season. They taste great and are really prolific.
These beans are easy to find in all the green leaves and stems. They cook down green and taste good.
Purple Podded Bean (Pole)
This is the most amazing and prolific pole bean I've ever grown! It produced throughout my growing season, with smaller consistent harvests each week and very large harvests at the end of July, August, and September! I felt like a garden fairy princess coming to pick these gorgeous beans that hung down from my trellis like little purple jewels that stood out beautifully from the leaves. Hope to never go another season without these in the garden :)
I'm not just saying this because I am from the great state of New York, but the New Yorker tomato from MI Gardener is stupendous....It almost over-performed last summer (is that even possible?) I can't wait to get started with them again this year.!!
I used revive Rex last year with excellent outcomes. I wanted you to make sure I have it on had for this gardening season.
Delicious and prolific.I'll plant this on repeat!
Grew these for the past three years and I will keep growing them for many more. I highly recommend them. Great germination rate. Every onion grew to the size of baseballs and others a bit bigger and they store very well.Best long day onion I have ever grow.
I am very happy with my heirloom seeds. I cannot wait to germinate them.
